Surplus property is auctioned through GovDeals, an online auction service. This provides OTC the opportunity to dispose of surplus items on an ongoing basis. Registration with GovDeals is required to bid on an item, but is not required to view listed items. Items are posted as they become available and are sold “as is, where is”. A full disclosure of the terms of each sale is posted with the item being sold. Selling surplus property online ensures that we get the best possible price for our property. There is also the added benefit of being able to sell property year-round instead of waiting for an annual auction which reduces storage and depreciation costs.
