Safety & Security Department Mission
The Ozarks Technical Community College Safety and Security Department is dedicated to creating a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This mission is achieved through collaboration with the entire campus community, emphasizing the collective responsibility of security personnel, students, faculty, and staff.
Community Role in Safety
Safety and security at Ozarks Technical Community College are communal responsibilities. The OTC Safety & Security Department leads this effort, implementing programs, methods, and approaches to maintain a secure environment.
Department Overview
The department boasts around 50 officers and staff across six OTC Campus/Center locations. They are tasked with various safety operations, including building access control, routine inspections, and patrolling.
Medical and Emergency Response
All campuses are equipped with first aid kits and Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), checked monthly. Department members are trained to American Heart Association standards for emergency medical responses.
Communication and Dispatch
Dispatchers manage communication channels, including telephones and two-way radios, to coordinate emergency responses. They also monitor weather updates for severe conditions.

OTC Safety & Security Officers are also on call 24/7 for emergencies when the College is closed. To report an emergency that requires or may require police, fire, or EMS personnel to respond, please dial 911 from any campus phone or any outside phone system.
Safety & Security Services
The department provides various services, including:
- Parking and traffic enforcement
- Crime prevention patrols
- Investigations (crime, accidents, injuries)
- Escorts
- Lost and found services
- Vehicle registration
- Emergency notifications
- CPR and AED first response
- Assistance with vehicle issues
